Kapa Haka

This week we have done our Kapa Haka. On Wednesday is our Kapa Haka rehearsal. On Friday we are going to have the real Kapa Haka day. I have been working on doing pukana and making sure that when I do my actions they are high not sloppy. Also when I do the poi I am moving my feet and smiling. Enjoy. :)

This is my next comment. I chose to comment on Kohl-lee. I only chose to pick Kohl-lee because she is my Best friend. She is a really helpful friend of mine. I commented on her Quick 60 post. Kia ora. This week we had to write an amazing hook that will interest our audience. I wrote about going hunting. All of this is a non fictional story. I just made this all up. Baa-Mite

Today we finally finished our Baa-Mite video. This is a radio play. I really did enjoy doing this today. The hardest part for me was when we had to keep restarting the video and trying to remember my lines. I really do think we done a great job. Enjoy.

Today we had Whaea Tania come over and teach us how to be smart learners. We were given a task to do. It may look hard, but it is really easy. We have done this before but with the population not with our blog archives. I really did enjoy today's set task with Whaea Tania. Follow the steps and you will get everything correct. I finally had the time to go and finish off my reading. I had the chance to read some of my reading and I got to publish it too. I am so happy that I have most of my blog posts posted. I am really really super happy that I had the time to finish my reading. Next week I will do some more reading and publish it up.

Our Waka Hoe

We are too brainy!

Thank you Whaea Tania and Whaea Cassandra.

Today we had Whaea Tania and Whaea Cassandra come into our class today. We had a lot of fun enjoying how to make new charts. I learnt how to make my chart 3D and change the colors for the background and for the font.  We had to find the population of the cities that are in this photo down below. Mexico City had the highest population of people over there. The easiest thing for me that I done today was finding all of the populations for all of the countries. It was also easy changing my font for the text. Here is what my total of what my statistics looked like when I was finished.

My Papa's Tangi😑

W.A.L.T: Write an amazing hook that will capture my audience's interest. 

Oh my gosh, what would you do if you had to deal with something like this. On one sad Saturday my family and I went to my papa’s tangi. There I am standing still like a stunned mullet, I was really shocked that this has happened. I went to see my papa, “Wow” he looks so great. My papa passed away from cancer, so to all of you out there… be careful. I look over to see my Nan, she was balling with tears and her heart was broken. “Kia Ora moko” she whispered “Hi Nan”, my eyes were shattering looking at my Nan. You be strong Nan. “Have a great day” I whispered.

Yay Cross Country Today!

“Bang” the blocks sounded like gunshots telling me to go. “Come on guys you can do it” is all I heard. My heart was pumping like an electric train. “Ow” I moaned, “my legs are aching”. When I was running up the hill my legs were shattering like wind chimes, I couldn’t breath. I was thinking to myself “Why is my teacher doing this to me?”, how is this actually possible?. I ended up running up the hill, the sweat was running down my face like water. Do we have to run?.

Class Survey

Today our whole class used Google Forms to create a survey as part of our statistics unit.
Together we asked some question and sent the link to our class. I really did enjoy making this survey today. I learn't how to add photos into my survey and learn't how to add check boxes in. The easiest thing for me was making the survey. I have made a survey before but, forgot how to use it.

You can clearly see that mostly no one takes their Chromebook home.

You can also see that nearly half of our class said yes they do have a Chromebook.

We are learning how to write an introduction for an explanation text.

SC: I will Look at examples to support my understanding. Identify whether the writer has written a general statement, brief description, or question about the topic as their introduction. Write an introduction explaining how plastic is recycled. .

WALT: Write a recount of one specific moment during my school holidays. SUCCESS CRITERIA: I will have A title A orientation - Who, what, when, where, how, why Fantastic language - time words, past tense, vivid verbs/vocabulary Proofread/buddy checked my draft - punctuation, spelling and grammar. A conclusion to wrap everything up. A plan of the key points I will talk about.

Introduction: Looking at flowers. Secondly: Going to Kaikohe and making cool pranks on people, making sure I see no one from school. Thirdly: Having a mean as feed at Maccas. Lastly: Making heaps of cakes. Conclusion: Enjoying a fun and cool time with my family.

Start here:

Looking at flowers seeming how pretty they are. Having a fun time enjoying yourself, looking at them.
Hold on, I’m supposed to be talking about Kaikohe. Now let’s get started.

On a hot sunny cold day, my family and I went to Kaikohe to do cool pranks.
“Hey you dropped something!” I roared like a lion. Driving down the road thinking I’m cool, but really, I was just pretending.
Going around doing pranks, “I hope I see no one from school” I quivered. My heart was pounding like a train,
watching out for people I know, that come to our school.

After that my family and I went to McDonalds.
I had a Quarter Pounder, Fries and an Ice drink. My eyes were as big as tennis balls, once I saw McDonalds.
My jaw dropped like it broke. I was so happy when we got to McDonalds.
“Ohhhh man this burger is so nice” I hinted to my aunty Ani. The food was getting squashed up in my mouth.
It was really nice.

Later on that day my family and I traveled home. Waiting to maKe some delicious cakes.
“Cakes, cakes, cakes” I softly quivered to my sister Sylvah. Licking the bowl for an extra taste.
“Mmmmmmm” this is so delicious man”. My stomach was so sore, I needed to spu.
My stomach aching my head spinning really fast, “owww” I moaned to my sister Sylvah “can you help me please”.?

In conclusion that day was fun and I really had a cool time with my family.
I also had a few of fall overs when we were at the beach too.
But too wrap it all up, I had the best time ever, until a seagull ate my chips!!

What I learn't was making sure that my hair and my hands weren't in the film when  I took the shots.
What worked really well in our movie was when we had to sculpt our humans and when we had to make our crops as a road after that. I found everything difficult because I had to do most of the work when we were taking our shots, I also found most things difficult when we had to sculpt our snowmen for our first scene we done.

Who likes speeches? Because I do and you should to.

This morning our class stood up to present our speeches to the class. We all had 2-3 minutes to talk about our speech. My speech was about having swimming pools in Kaikohe. Do you think if we were to have swimming pools in Kaikohe it would make everything more better? Well let's do something about it.

I made sure that:

Time words

The most challenging part for me was when we had to stand up in the front of the classroom and the students. I think that I done a bit alright. I just need to work on making sure that I use more expression and more facial expression. But overall I think I done great.

I enjoyed playing Minecraft

It was really easy

I helped others by making sure they knew how to do all the stages.

I needed help with nothing

It was fast for me to finish to finish the 12 stages.  When I finished the 12 stages I got a certificate. I took screenshots as I worked my way through the stages.  When you look at the screenshots you can see how I used blocks to create the code which made me clock my level.

Lets start arguing for our environment.
